Cool shop: great beer selection, good hearty food, relaxed atmosphere.
Very nice place with good beers and outdoor seating. The food isn’t my favourite but the beers make up for it. Their unfiltered ‘Kölsch’ is delicious but don’t forget to try the pale ales too (they’re even better)!
Local brewery with in-house beer specialties and home-style cuisine. An institution in Ehrenfeld. Hygiene rules are observed but with the distance it is difficult at peak times.
A class pub!
On the one hand small and rustic, on the other hand hip and special. Mixture of a Cologne corner bar and a hipster bar.
In the small brewery, innovative beers are served with hearty brewery dishes in a simple rustic atmosphere. The only brewery in all of Cologne where it is possible to try a number of other brewing styles besides Kölsch. The in-house Helios Kölsch is better than other thin representatives of its kind. The old is very spicy. The Colonia Pale Ale nice bitter hoppy and Schwarze Sieben the dark highlight. I am a hobby beer tester with around 500 per beers.
Various delicious home-made beers in the range. It's easy to try out. In the context of international understanding there is also an alt. Cheers. The food is more traditional brewery dishes. The service is nice and quick.
The reservation went smoothly and the Corona guidelines were all wonderfully adhered to. Unfortunately the olives were very hot. This was not visible on the map beforehand. The waitress noticed that the olives were for the child. A reference to the sharpness would have been appropriate. So we had a rightly indignant and disappointed three year old at the table! Luckily we had bread against the heat. The Käsespätzle were totally salty and the salad tasted strange. Nir the bread tasted really good! The beer should be good. The service was friendly but unfortunately very slow and not particularly attentive, although hardly anything was going on. She preferred to stand with her colleague and chat and have a drink.
Super delicious beer and the schnitzel was just great :) Always my pleasure!
Iconic brewpub. So a real brewery in the house. Usually 8 beers from the tap, hearty brewery kitchen, good spirits from our own distillery. Top!
The brewing takes place in the house. Great selection of delicious (craft) beers and spirits. Hearty brewer's dishes. Recommendation!
Totally cozy. If you visit the city, you should take a look. Top!!
Very nice staff and delicious pale ale. Unfortunately a little too bright, a little darker it would be a little more cozy.
As always a bank. You can also eat and drink well under corona conditions.
Outstanding service! Really enjoyed the evening I spent here.
Great food, great beer, very friendly staff. Quick, delicious, always a great time with great experience! One of the best breweries in Köln. Quite busy at times, but overall it has my highest recommendation!
Very good home-brewed beers also for out-of-home sales. New beers appear regularly. Delicious and strong food that goes well with beer. Friendly service. Simple and functional setup.
Everything okay except ....... We stayed yesterday with a reservation for 4t. in the "Braustelle", it was full as always, the beer was cold and delicious, the food was good, the atmosphere is always "special" and it was a nice evening. Together we had a "lid" of just under € 150 within a good 5 hours stay, the more annoying in retrospect I am afterwards the saying of a female waitress who after about 2/3 of our stay with the saying "You got something you sit meat, do you want to drink something else? " came, not very charming in my opinion !!! I think such a statement, which should be funny in your eyes, is not necessary !!!
Good beer, good food (Photo: Salad with Feta / Gouda) at reasonable prices. In the brewing site in Ehrenfeld, there are some delicious, home-made beers. The Helios I find as fresh and wholesome. The operation is also nice and service oriented. Full recommendation.
Amazing beer but not enough dead animals hanging from the walls.
Cozy restaurant with hearty, down to earth food. Also for vegetarians there is a nice selection. Very tasty and reasonable prices. Children welcome. Very courteous and polite service. Recommended ?
Often very full. And rightly so! Very delicious hearty cuisine at reasonable prices and delicious fresh beer! What more do you want?
We heard they serve a nice, local beer. After what I saw I would never step my foot here ever again. I was shocked by what I saw on the their “menu”(and the big board over the counter): “Slaughterhouse”. How pathetic can this place? Of course you hang dead animals all over your place and like that isn’t enough you dare to disparage animals in such a lame and cruel way?? This place is a nightmare. Regret every second I spend there.
Braustelle is a great little brewery with a fine offering of several house-made craft beers. It is a cozy place that occupies the ground floor of a 5-story concrete and brick building. Over the street-corner entrance is an engraving of their name. Just inside is an angled 3-sided wooden bar with a central stainless steel tap tower. On the left are just a few tables, and their is a larger space on the right with more tables. The floor is dark wood and the walls are orange-brown decorated with colorful paintings. Past the tables on the right is their very small brewhouse with two short cylindrical brewing vessels. Not a large operation but they make really good beers. Naturally in Koln, their flagship beer is a Kolsch served in a small glass. It is good and is accompanied by its brothers - a Weizen, Alt, and a Hibiscus infused ale called Pink Panther. A chalkboard on the wall over the bar lists a few other rotating beers on tap, and they have a total of 7 in all. It is a good family of beers. The staff works diligently to keep the glasses full, constantly pouring beers. They also have a kitchen that produces a nice brewpub menu of pub starters, salads, sausages, sandwiches, and a few larger dishes. Some folks come here for the food, but most tables are filled with happy friends sharing conversation over the fine beers. Upbeat background music is playing, which is overwhelmed by the many voices and clanking of beer glasses at the bar. It is a warm, cheerful place worth a visit to try their nice beers.
If you're ever in Köln, you need to go to Braustelle in Ehrenfeld. They have a tasty Kölsch and craft beer (although I generally enjoy Altbier, this one was not so much my thing; however their pale ale was very smooth and flavorful), plus the food is delicious and an very affordable. They have a brezel made from used beer malt that has a very unique and enjoyable flavor. What I absolutely recommend as a must is the Ehrenfelder Schnitzel. Iierts a Schnitzel topped with a thick blood sausage, glazed onions, Altbier sauce and your choice of Spätzle, dumpling (and a big one), or backed sliced potatoes.
Bier is best of and hamburger deluxe
Very friendly staff, nice food and beer selection and great atmosphere. One star missing only because they hardly offer vegetarian dishes.
The Braustelle is a very cozy, rustic restaurant in Cologne-Ehrenfeld, near the local community center. After the annual beer festival, we stopped here for food and drink - and were well served on both sides. The beers (from our own production) are just as impressive as the range of mostly hearty dishes (in this case: knuckle). The waitresses are very friendly and helpful and contribute to the good mood. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!
We loved this microbrewery and restaurant. We tried several of the beers they make: we started with Helios, their particular version of the Kölsch, unfiltered, cloudy and delicious. We also tried Irish Rover (very good Imperial Stout), Colonia Pale Ale (a really good APA), and an impressive Imperial Dark Ale. Their prices were quite reasonable and even cheap for how good they were. The dinner also very rich; what we liked the most was a goulash served with a bread donut (Semmelknödel). The waiters were very friendly and did their best to explain something we did not understand about the menu. It is quite far from the center of Cologne, but there is a metro stop next to it, so it is easy to get there.
Had The beer and cheese bread meat platter. Seemed quite busy. Beer is okay. A bit cold in the restaurant
Welcoming and friendly staff. Busy and vibrant atmosphere. Nice food and really nice beer.
Great Kölsch, hoppy and unlike anything else.
Great small brewery bar. They have a fair variety of beers. Unfiltered kolsch, weizenbier, alt, pale ale, other craft on draft and bottles - not just one kolsch like all of the big places in town. I particularly liked the moulin rouge sour (like a Flanders red). Didn't try the food but it looks like a typical regional menu.
The place for great Kölsch, great food, friendly people and lovely Dunkel Bier.
Nice! :)
They make their own Kölsch, as well as Altbier, which probably makes them unique.
I also have been here. It was in March 2016. I am not a beer specialist but these beers has fantastic taste . I would like recommend it to you :)
I went here back in April as a solo traveller that doesnt speak much german. The staff were very friendly and described the menu as best they could. The food was great as were the beers. In particular the Berry beer they had on tap at the time. The whole place had a great vibe to it as well. Mostly locals that seemed to be there which was great as it gets you away from the tourist traps in the city centre. Id recommend this place and hope to return to it one day.
Only one craft brewery in town. If you are searching for something different than Kölsh then come to Braustelle.
Very original homemade beers. Foods is OK.
Nice place to have a drink or two, food is also good and people is nice. They do understand and speak english, which makes it easy. They have multiple kind of beers, however, they do produce its own Kölsh, which is the typical beer from Cologne. I wouldn't like Kölsh at all; however this one is good enough. If you're gonna drink one, drink this one.
Beers are fantastic (one of your only shots at a local craft brew in the city) and the food is great, all the German stodginess you want but usually with a really stunning green salad on the side. Often rather busy and quite loud. Usually very friendly staff.
Great Schnitzel and beer
Best beer in Cologne!
Small place. Great atmosphere. Great beer. Decent food.
The beers were pretty decent. They had an interesting variety of styles. However, the food was substandard. My semmelknödel was pretty disappointing.
